2006: I’ve been here before…
The year 2006 saw the recommencement of production. Having learnt much about the craft the previous year, I wanted to raise the production value a smidge. I modified the character designs, rebuilt their models and rigs, and began developing new textures, shaders, environments and props. I was starting from scratch, and finding motivation difficult. I felt like I was in a state of perpetual déjà vu.
In addition to redoing so much of the technical side of production, I was also turning the story reel into a 3D story reel/animatic. This would serve as a layout tool and help with staging and cinematography within a virtual environment. I also created a colour script; an aid for lighting and rendering.
