I can see the light!
Animation is now well and truly underway. This, in my opinion, is what it's all about. Animation is the process, the art, of bringing something inanimate to life. It's not about making the characters move realistically, it's about making them move believably. Animation is a caricature of movement; emphasise what's important, and minimise what's not. But of course, it's not that simple. It is a very involved process, and I have an indescribable amount to learn.
I began animating the "new film" in early March 2008. With the supervision of veteran animator Mike Chavez, I have completed animating the beginning of the film, and I'm pleased with the results. I am now in the process of animating the middle of the film and can't help but get excited. The light at the end of the tunnel has finally appeared!
